Teaser Tuesday – 8 November 2016

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by Books and a Beat. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CARFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My Current Read:

Kingdom Asunder by Thaddeus White

Kindle 14%:

One of the fallen men grabbed her leg and pulled her to the ground. He clambered on top of her, and she sought her dagger’s hilt, but the weapon was trapped beneath her. His sword glinted in the light of the dying sun, and she seized his wrist. Feral hate shone in his eyes as he used his weight to force the blade ever nearer her throat. Her fingers scrabbled for her dagger.

“Any last words, bitch?” he murmured, soft as a lover’s whisper.

“Not today.”

Kindle 19%:

Blood made the floor slick and filled his nostrils with the dreadful exhilaration of battle. Two more archers had been killed, and one of his men was frantically stabbing a corpse over and over again.

He approached the man-at-arms and shouted for him to stop, and when that failed he cuffed the blood-crazed soldier around the ear.

“They killed my brother,” the man, a Dennish mercenary, spat.

“Then let’s go kill more of them,’ Hugh answered.

  1. A really great teaser! I reviewed the authors previous book The Tales of Sir Edric not long after I’d started blogging, I’m not currently accepting review requests and as such had to decline this book but the teaser sounds good, are you enjoying it? And I’m glad Thaddeus found a blogger to review it as he comes across as a really nice guy.

    1. He really does come across as a nice guy 🙂 I’m only about half in (I’ve had real life getting in the way) but so far it’s really good. Also, it’s totally up your alley. You should pick it up when it’s released (he’s even discounting it for the first week!)
