Bookworm of the Month – May 2016

The Bookworm of the Month is a book read and reviewed on Vicarious Bookworm during the designated month; in this case, May 2016. For the time being, I will select a book from those reviewed. However, when more people are following or involved with the blog, I will use polls for the selection instead.

The Bookworm of the Month Award for May 2016 goes to The Queen’s Poisoner by Jeff Wheeler.

The Queen’s Poisoner is rooted in a historical style, taking place in the realm of Kingfountain where the king demands highborn families send hostage wards to ensure loyalty. After the Duke of Kiskaddon commits treason, his eldest son is executed and the king demands another hostage ward as an alternative to executing the entire family for treason.
